Optiv Senior Consultant - Data Protection (PKI/HSM) | Remote, USA in Chicago, Illinois

This position will be fully remote and can be hired anywhere in the continental U.S.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Design, build and operate certificate lifecycle management and key management solutions.

  • Participate and occasionally lead in capacity planning and hardware specification recommendation efforts for cryptography and PKI solutions.

  • Participate in cryptography solution deployment activities, connector configuration, custom rule development, workflow configuration and development, and third-party system integration.

  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing efforts and occasionally leads the efforts.

  • Design and implement cryptography technology build processes for both small and large projects.

  • Successfully provide knowledge transfer and post production support activities as necessary.

  • Comfortably delivers solo-based work or act as "point" for complex projects.

  • Acts as technical escalation point to assist other consultants.

  • Effectively provide knowledge transfer and post production support activities as necessary.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional associations.

  • Obtain and maintain top tier vendor certifications.

  • Complete administrative project tasks like time and expense entry, status reporting, and project completion reporting.

  • Acts as contributor in Optiv communities for solutions of focus.

What we're looking for:

  • Candidates should posses strong knowledge of cryptographic process, programs, and algorithms.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Approximately 5-7 years of related work experience, with 4-7 of those years in technical architecture.

  • Approximately 4-7 years of technical architecture experience.

  • Extensive knowledge and implementation experience with at least one of the following technology solution sets: Thales CipherTrust Manager, Thales Luna HSMs, Venafi CLM, Keyfactor CLM.

  • Ancillary experience with Entrust nCipher, Entrust nShield, Fortanix, Akeyless or AppViewX is a plus.

  • Working knowledge of operating systems, virtual machine environments, mainframe security packages, and relational database management systems.

  • Strong consulting and client advisory skills.

  • Process-oriented individual with strong attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.

  • Excellent, detailed writing skills.

  • Expert knowledge of using Microsoft Office and Visio.

  • Ability to write scripts (Java, Python, Perl) is a plus.

  • Ability to build relationships with and influence other functional areas.

  • Basic understanding of Services organization and key areas of focus.

  • Well-developed negotiation skills.

  • Solid business acumen and basic project management expertise.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in parallel.

  • Willingness to travel to meet client needs, likely 20-25%.

  • The successful candidate should hold or be willing to pursue related professional certifications such as the CISSP, CISM, and/or CISA.

Salary Range Description

$116,500.00 - $156,000.00 Annual

The Hiring Range provided for this role is informed by (but not limited to) various factors including responsibilities of the position, work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, geography, as well as other market influences when extending an offer. The disclosed range has not been adjusted for these factors. This role may also be eligible to participate in a variable incentive-based bonus plan. Optiv offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package, of which salary is a component.
